Exploring TikTok’s story conventions
For CIM406 Creative Inquiry, I will be researching TikTok conventions and linking to archetypical film aesthetics.
Below is the inquiry process I will be engaging in as I explore the question:
Can the TikTok format be used to effectively emulate archetypical film aesthetics?
During this process, I will be considering modern filmmaking techniques, short-form storytelling conventions, modern storytelling themes, and the interface of TikTok and how it affects storytelling. Elements to consider include stories adapting to new technologies (as seen with streaming television adapting traditional television storytelling conventions, which I briefly explore here).
